This is an especially difficult time, and Passover this year will likely look quite different than it usually does.  There is a tradition of clearing the hametz (foods with leavening) prior to the holiday, but this is not always possible.  Therefore, the rabbis suggest storing the hametz in a way that it won’t be used during the holiday, and transferring the ownership to someone who is not Jewish until Passover ends.  Please complete the Hametz form and return to the Congregation Beth David office via email office no later than 11am on Monday April 6, 2020.

There is a tradition of giving Maot Hittin (literally, “wheat money”) at Passover time.  If you are able, please consider donating tzedakah to the food charitable organization of your choice (some examples: Mazon, Second Harvest Food Bank, Leket Israel, so that all who are hungry will be able to eat.
