CDC Recommendations and Difficult Choices

Dear Friends,

After reviewing the latest guidelines that have come out of the CDC, the State of California, and Santa Clara County Public Health, as well as reliable news sources about the very limited availability of widespread testing for COVID-19, it is with a very heavy heart that I feel compelled to cancel Shabbat services and religious school this Saturday.

For now the decision regarding minyan tonight and Sunday is this: Minyan is usually only 10 people, plus or minus a few. Those who show up for minyan will be required to go first to the restroom and thoroughly wash their hands, and sit greater than 6 feet apart if they choose to stay. The decision about minyan may change, since the situation remains very much in flux.

Shalom
