Israeli Movie Night: “Shtisel”

We will be screening two episodes of the acclaimed Israeli TV show, “Shtisel,” a charming, with touches of humor, family saga about an ultra-Orthodox family in a Haredi neighborhood in Jerusalem. The realistic details in the episodes give us insights into contemporary Israeli life, while humanizing the Haredi characters. Epigenetics in Development and Disease

Presented by Dr. Yonatan Stelzer, Dept of Cellular Biology Weizmann Institute of Science. Dr. Steizer explores the biological mechnaisms of how environmental influences like famine, diet, aging and other stress factors could all potentially impact the human genome, and how despite genetics and DNA we can influence the turning on and off of cells influencing disease and re-newal. $5 per person.
