Judaism: The Path of Wisdom

Mindfulness is a popular term these days. But is Buddhism the only path to Enlightenment? Join us for dinner and a discussion with Rabbi Darren Kleinberg as he explores the ancient rabbinic roots of the Jewish path to wisdom. Service 6:30pm, Potluck 7:00pm, Rabbi Kleinberg 7:30pm
We will provide: Cole slaw with pineapple, green salad with salmon, and a quinoa dish. CBD Women Annual Business Meeting and Brunch

Mah Jongg Tournament
Sunday, November 10, 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m

A fun day of tournament Mah Jongg at Beth David with prizes and lunch! Tournament play is 12 games, 4 games per hour, and players rotate tables every hour. The Jewish Sound
Sunday December 8, 10:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

What makes music sound Jewish? A discussion of the music of biblical times to contemporary world folk fusion. We’ll delve into the history and traditions around Klezmer music and compare it to its Sephardic cousin as well as the sacred traditions developed by unique Jewish communities around the world. Taught by Deborah Rosengaus – mezzo soprano opera singer. Possibly the first class in a four-class sequence. Class begins at 10:30, Come early for food. Zip Code Desserts
Saturday, February 1, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Our highly successful Zip Code Dessert event will be Saturday, February 1st.   We are planning a fabulous night hosted by CBD members in various locations centered around Beth David.  If you’d like to host, please contact Wendy at If you would like to be matched to a home in your neighborhood or would rather extend your circular of friends outside of your zip code, please let us know. This is a FREE potluck dessert and appetizer event so everyone can participate.  RSVP’s are due by January 22 so you can be contacted by your host before the event. Sigd Celebration

Join us for a remarkable evening to celebrate the Ethiopian Jewish holidy of SIGD which occurs 50 days after Yom Kippur!
– 6:00 pm Kabbalat Shabbat with an African Flair
– 7:00 pm Dairy Potluck Shabbat dinner; CBD will supply beverages and Ethiopian food to taste. Sign up coming soon
– 8:00 pm Ethiopian, Jewish speaker – Beza Abebe, will speak about Sigd, Ethiopia, Israel and B’chol Lashon, the local Jewish diversity organization that Beza is currently working for.
