613 on 6/13 Mitzvah Event

613 on 6/13

Thursday, June 13, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

It’s the right time to do a mitzvah or two
Join the Tikkun Olam Team (TOT) as we kick off the first annual 613 on 6/13!!  We will be making and bagging PB&J sandwiches and packing toiletries into bags for the residents of Safe Park. Why 6/13? In our religion, six hundred thirteen (613) is a special number. According to most, the Torah (five Books of Moses), which form the basis of both Judaism and Christianity, lists 613 Mitzvot (commandments): 365 are positive and 248 are negative (prohibitions). In this spirit, lets designate June 13th–six thirteen–a Mitzvah day in honor of the Six Hundred Thirteen Mitzvot in the Torah. RSVP online or call the office at 408-257-3333.
