Shabbat Kedoshim

Nisan 26, 5774 / April 26, 2014
Triennial Cycle Year I: Leviticus 19:1-37
Ḥumash Etz Ḥayim, page 693
Haftarah: Amos 9:7, page 706

After Moses’ successful intercession on behalf of the Israelites following the incident of the Golden Calf, he asks God to reveal to him His ways, and to show him His Glory. God agrees to the first, but refuses the second. God reveals His goodness to Moses in the form of the Thirteen Attributes, which emphasize God’s patience and forgiveness—those Divine traits which need to be emphasized at this moment of reconciliation.
