  1. 7:12-16) The rewards for following the commandments.
  2. 7:17-24) A word of encouragement: don’t be afraid of the Canaanites. God will continue to help you as in the past.
  3. 7:25-26) You must totally destroy all the idols of the nations you conquer.
  4. (8:1-20) A warning against overconfidence: Once you have occupied this good and fertile land, don’t forget that God brought you there. Be sure to thank God for the land and its goodness whenever you eat.
