A Dignified Jewish Burial
As Jews, one of our foremost obligations is to establish cemeteries and to care for the dead. Since Abraham purchased the Cemetery of the Patriarchs at Cave Machpela, Jewish communities have tended first to the establishment of a proper Jewish cemetery. In the spirit of this tradition, Congregation Beth David of Saratoga proudly offers the Jewish community the opportunity for traditional and dignified burial in the new Beth David Memorial Garden.
Beauty, Dignity, Serenity
The Beth David Memorial Garden is located at Oak Hill Cemetery in San Jose. The beautifully landscaped Garden includes 400 burial sites and offers pastoral solitude to mourners. A focal point in the Garden is the Wall of Remembrance -- providing the community an opportunity to place memorial plaques in honor of loved ones buried elsewhere.
Perpetual Care
Congregation Beth David of Saratoga operates the Beth David Memorial Garden. As a Conservative Synagogue affiliated with the United Synagogue for Conservative Judaism, Beth David maintains the practices associated with traditional Judaism. Those of the Jewish faith may be buried in the Garden. It is comforting to know that one's eternal resting place will be preserved as sacred Jewish ground. Oak Hill Cemetery, known for its quality, dedication, and sensitivity, provides perpetual care.
Easing Your Burden
As humans, we may naturally avoid issues regarding death before the actual need arises.
However, leaving burial arrangements and expenses to your family at a time of extreme distress may aggravate their grief. As part of keeping your affairs in order, you act wisely and lovingly by extending a helping hand to your family by purchasing a burial site ahead of time. We seek to ease your burden when you experience a loss. Whether you are making Pre-Need or At-Need Arrangements, we will assist you in getting through this most delicate and sensitive time.
Pre-Need Arrangements are those made in advance of an urgent need. We will help you select a burial site, and provide you with pricing for other related services performed by Oak Hill. They have a representative available to help you and even make funeral arrangements -- before the need is urgent. For pre-need arrangements, call Oak Hill (408.297.2447) or contact the mortuary of your choice, such as Sinai Memorial Chapel, a religious non-profit organization.
At-Need Arrangements are those made at the time of the death. We have a representative at Oak Hill on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may donate benches, memorial plaques, the front gate, and other special memorial elements.
Pre-Need Rates:
- Congregation Beth David Members: $4,200
- Members of other synagogues: $4,400
- Non-Members/Unaffiliated: $4,750
At-Need Rates:
- Congregation Beth David Members: $5,700
- Members of other synagogues: $7,000
- Non-Members/Unaffiliated: $8,000
Cost for "double-depth" plots (single plot for two individuals): add $1,750
