JET – Jewish Experience for Teens

Open to all 8th-12th Grade Teens

Providing the South Bay Jewish teens with a:

  • Practical way to define their Jewish Identity
  • Practice Social Justice
  • Learn how Current Events shape our “Jewishness”
  • Provide leadership opportunities.

Who can attend this program?
Any Jewish teen in grades 8th-12th, including those not members of Congregation Beth David.

What are the hours of JET?
JET learning hours are most Sundays from 9:30am – 11:00am or 11:00am – 12:30pm  You pick the session.  Both sessions will be identical. See specific dates below.

When does the program begin?
JET will launch on 9/25.  Madrichim will start on 9/11.

The dates for the first semester of JET are:
9/25, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/20, 12/4, 12/11, 1/8.

The dates for the second semester of JET are:
1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 3/5, 3/19, 3/26, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/21

Congregation Beth David, 19700 Prospect Rd., Saratoga

Which teachers will be on the JET Staff?
The staff will consist of 3 teachers:

I want to be a Madrich.  How does JET and the Madrichim program work together?
The madrichim program is now part of JET for Sundays (Wednesday’s are separate).  You’ll be able to aide in the classroom for 1 ½ hours and learn for 1 ½ hours.

How do I sign up to be a Madrich?

Is there a cost associated with JET?
Yes, the costs are:
CBD Members = $180/year (not Madrichim)
Non Members = $180/semester or $260/year
Madrichim = $120/year
