An eScrip, therefore, is an electronic scrip that obligates participating retailers to pay designated nonprofit organizations a percentage of cash-register receipts. If you register your Safeway Club card number, for example, in the eScrip program, Safeway, an eScrip participant, will pay a percentage of all your cash-register purchases to Congregation Beth David. If you are not registered, you are leaving Beth David's money on the counter every time you shop. (VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover, and Chevron are also participants in the eScrip program as well...if you wish to register additional cards.)
