Administration Committee
Contact:

Maintains a Personnel Policy for all Congregation employees subject to the approval of the Board of Directors; provides adequate insurance for the Congregation; authorizes and schedules the use of the property and premises of the Congregation subject to rules, regulations, and fees approved by the Board of Directors.

Adult Education Committee
Contact:

Sets classes, finds teachers, handles scholar-in-residence programs. Recommends educational policies to the Board.

Bulletin Committee
Contact:

Oversees the publication and printing of the monthly bulletin, The Star.

Cemetery Committee
Contact:

Responsible for all aspects of administering Beth David Memorial Gardens; recommends and enforces synagogue policy in relation to cemeteries.

Chevrat Chesed
Contact:

Coordinates volunteer asistance for members in times of need.

Communications Committee
Contact: There is no contact person at this time.

Executive Board
Contact:

Their duties shall be to meet monthly at least one week before the regular Board of Directors meeting to plan the agenda of that meeting and to prepare recommendations to the Board on agenda items.

Facilities Committee
Contact: There is no contact person at this time.

Responsible for proper maintenance and security of synagogue property; maintains a Facilities Policy subject to the approval of the Board of Directors; maintains an equipment inventory; and recommends to the Board of Directors capital improvements to the property.

Finance and Budget Committee
Contact:

Maintains a Financial Policy subject to the approval of the Board of Directors; makes special financial arrangements for members who are experiencing financial hardship; submits to the Board of Directors a budget and a cash flow analysis for the following fiscal year; examines all financial records of the Congregation; oversees the work of the cemetery committee.

Hebrew High Committee

Israel Action Committee
Contact:

Organized to provide a strong support for Israel, in face of mounting Palestinian misinformation and distortion. Acts in cooperation with other congregations in the peninsula.

Information Technology (I.T.) Committee
Contact:

Responsible for maintaining synagogue I.T. systems and recommending changes and improvements.

Membership Committee
Contact:

Maintains an accurate membership record containing the names and addresses of each member; is charged with obtaining, interviewing and submitting applicants for synagogue membership; maintains a continuing program to conserve membership in the Congregation; establishs and maintains a Membership Policy subject to the approval of the Board of Directors; establishs and maintains an information brochure which describes the Congregation and its services.

Nomination

Is responsible for nominating and aquiring new Board members.

Programs
Contact:

Coordinates programs which involve multiple committees, organizations or events; coordinates events and acts as a resource for Congregation involvement with the external community.

Publicity Committee:

Arranges for the appropriate community-wide notification and external communication of services, functions or activities conducted by the Congregation.

Religious School Committee

Ritual Committee
Contact:

The task of the Ritual Committee is to oversee all religious aspects of the synagogue. This includes Bar/Bat Mitzvah training, High Holy Days Services, all other holiday services and Shabbat services. The Committee supervises the High Holy Days Committee, which distributes honors and arranges for leaders of the services at Kehillah K'tanah (the alternate High Holy Day services which take place in the Church of the Ascension). The Committee works closely with Rabbi Pressman and Rabbi Schonbrun, both of whom also serve on this committee. Members of the Ritual Committee usually possess a wide range of religious knowledge and skills, but knowledge of Hebrew and ritual is not required to join the committee.

Security Committee

Oversees the security and security related issues at Beth David.

Social Action Committee

Plans social action programs for the synagogue and community.

Ways and Means
Contact: This committee is inactive

Devises and implements methods of acquiring funds, consistent with the directions of the Board of Directors.

Youth Activities
Contact:

Hires youth advisors, administers Youth Scholarships

Youth Education
Contact:

Works with school staff to find volunteers, coordinate programs,
raise funds for the school. Recommends educational policies to the
Board.
