Painting a Sukkah of Peace:

Elizabeth Batson guides us in an evening of painting therapy assisting us in delving into our notions of and hopes for personal security, peace and growth in the new year.  No painting experience is necessary, all you need to bring is an openness to self exploration. Cantor Levy Returns to CBD!
Sunday, October 9th 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Celebrate Cantor Levy’s 13th year at Congregation Beth David with a ‘Bar Mitzvah’ Concert! Join us for a pre-concert reception followed by a performance featuring beautiful Ashkenaz and Sephardic melodies! CDs will be available! Please reserve your ticket online or call the office at 408-257-3333. $20.00 for adults; $10.00 for teens; ages 13 and under, free. Break-The-Fast at Beth David after Yom Kippur
Wednesday, October 12th 8:00 – 9:30 p.m.
This year go straight from services to a lovely buffet in our new Building! Eat, socialize and relax. Menu will include lox and bagels, quiche and kugel, blintz soufflé, cheeses, salad, knishes, fruits, light desserts and beverages. Limited to 100 people this year so sign up now! RSVP

Building Dedication and Opening Ceremony
Sunday, October 16th, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Walk through the building and check out all of the wonderful space we have for additional programs, classes, seminars and events. Activities include dedication of the building, burying the time capsule, final stone setting and the placement of the Mezuzah. Lunch follows. Free. RSVP online or call the office for assistance.

Sukkot Synagogue Service, Supper and Scavenger Hunt
Friday, October 21st, 6:00 – 9:30 p.m.
Join us for a Sukkot dinner on our new Sukkah patio! The evening will include a service, a unique Sukkot biblical character scavenger hunt for all ages, a tasty harvest dinner, and a service filled with song and celebration. A caramel apple bar dessert will conclude the evening. Limited seating available!

Simchat Torah Young Families Supper & Celebration
Monday, October 24th 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Join along with other families with children (0-5 – older siblings welcome) for a yummy spaghetti dinner followed by a special Simchat Torah celebration geared just for the little ones. Following the dinner, Rabbis Ohriner and Alexander will lead us in an abbreviated holiday experience with singing, dancing with flags and mini Torahs. We invite everyone to stay for our community wide, adult and child friendly, Simchat Torah celebration that immediately follows.
